What Is Mainstage?

Mainstage is a computer software made by Apple  for Macbooks and iMacs. It's made for musicians (particularly keys, bass, and electric guitar players) to play live venues and events. It is very popular for those who play instruments in church.

There are so many things you can accomplish and do on this software. Unlimited possibilities... So much so that many people can become overwhelmed by it.

You can create and share your own custom patches. There are hundreds of unique instruments at your fingertips, as well as plug-ins and audio fx.

It is the best option for price and accessibility. It only costs $30. Compare this to many other programs that are way more expensive.

Updates

One great thing about Apple's MainStage software is that they continue to update it. The most recent update was 3.7 (as of 2/19/2025). They make sure to be adding new instruments, plugins, and even fixing bugs or problems.

Perform Mode

One of the benefits of MainStage versus any other music software is the attention to detail you can get when it comes to playing live. The perform mode interface makes it to where you can set up multiple different settings and instruments and have them make sense.

You can add in dials to affect EQ, Reverb, Delay, and so much more. You can add in sliders to adjust instrument volumes individually.

You can make any changes to fit your exact needs.
